Here we go!!
It's the first day of the Allingham Arts Festival, and activities have already kicked off with some circus shenanigans in the Mercy Hall!
Later this evening, we have Anthony Begley's talk on the Allingham Family (SOLD OUT!), followed by a performance by the Ballyshannon Brass & Reed Band in the Abbey Arts Centre.
Please note, Anthony's talk is sold out.
This week at the Allingham Festival we have a few special treats in store for fans of drama, history and literature.
‘STEPN IN’ by Win Mc Nulty
Friday Nov. 4th, 3pm & 5pm
The Workhouse, Ballyshannon
On Friday afternoon, there will be two perfomances of a new piece by Win Mc Nulty, set and performed in the Ballyshannon Workhouse.
Step out of the rush of your day and take a few moments at dusk to listen to old voices. Can we still hear them over a hundred years later? Are they surprisingly like us? Listen.
We might hear them above the trees, above the crows’ call, whispers caught in stone walls.
Step into the Workhouse.
'A DUNDUCKEDY MUDCOLOURED EVENING' (World Premiere!!)
Friday, Nov. 4th, 10pm
The Thatch, Ballyshannon
To mark the centenary of the publication of James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’, Ballyshannon Drama Society takes a look into three of the great scenes from this world-famous book.
You will meet Leopold Bloom himself, his wife Molly, The Citizen and other characters. There will even be a few songs.
Sure, it might encourage you to have another go at reading the book! You will certainly be entertained.
