Tamara Colonna is a talented singer/songwriter from Jacksonville, FL. She tells us...
"... William Allingham and his work made a huge impression on me; therefore, I was inspired to write a song about him. In it, I tried to capture the essence of his magic through his connection with nature."
Tamara very kindly shared with us a copy of her CD which we intend to play at various events during the Festival.
If you can't wait that long to hear her song 'Allingham' you'll find it on YouTube
Thank you, Tamara for this 200th birthday gift to us and to Allingham. We hope one day you'll be able to visit us at the festival.
Storyteller Joe Brennan, author of Donegal Folk Tales, can take you on a magical journey through the imagination with his wonderful stories, from Irish folk tales and legends to stories from all corners of the globe. Joe wraps you up in the warmth of his words, bringing a smile to your face, stretching credulity, moving your heart and leaving you feeling that all is well in the world. Joe has been telling stories throughout Ireland, and abroad, to people of all ages for over 24 years. He has performed in schools, libraries, community settings, arts centres, theatres and in hospitals. We are delighted that Joe will make his Allingham Festival debut on Thursday/Friday November 7th - 8th, when he will entertain and delight the Primary School children of Ballyshannon as he visits all the schools in the area.
In another first for Allingham Festival, 2024, we will include a live transmission of the very popular Legal Podcast, The Fifth Court. The regular hosts, PETER LEONARD BL and MARK TOTTENHAM BL, will discuss 'Literature and the Law' with a very special guest. The topic will surely fascinate both readers and writers alike.
This very special event will take place in Theatre 2 of The Abbey Centre at 5.00 p.m. on FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8TH, Admission Free.
