She replaces poet and publisher Kate Newmann, who will be unable to attend the Awards Ceremony on November the 7th at the Allingham Festival.
Denise has taken part in many Allingham Arts Festivals at this stage, both as judge and running writing workshops.Denise’s newest collection, Invocation, was published by Revival Press – Limerick Writers’ Centre. Her first collection of poetry, Take a Deep Breath, was published by Summer Palace Press.
Her second collection, How to Spin Without getting Dizzy, was published in Spring 2010. She is a regular contributor to Sunday Miscellany RTE radio 1 and her work is in five Sunday Miscellany anthologies. She read at the Sunday Miscellany Live in Omagh, Ballyshannon, Clifden and three Christmas shows in the National Concert Hall.
Denise read as part of Poetry Ireland Introductions series, Out to Lunch readings, Over the Edge, Ó Bheal, North West Words, Irish Writers’ Cenre lunch series and took part in the Clé Author and Publisher library tour. She has wide experience of giving creative writing workshops in primary and secondary schools in Donegal and in Northern Ireland as well as working with adult groups.
