Téa Obreht in conversation with Denise Blake

November 7th | 11am
Abbey Arts Centre Book ticket  (€15 + €1 booking fee)

Join award-winning novelist Téa Obreht for a special “In Conversation With” event at this year’s festival, where she will be interviewed by Donegal poet Denise Blake, judge of the 2026 Allingham Poetry Competition.

Born in Belgrade in 1985, Obreht burst onto the international literary scene with The Tiger’s Wife, which won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2011, making her the youngest-ever recipient of the award at just twenty-five years of age. The novel was also shortlisted for the US National Book Award. She followed this acclaimed debut with Inland (2019), a haunting reimagining of the American West, and The Morningside (2024).

Her latest novel, Sunrise, published in August 2026, will feature prominently in what promises to be a fascinating discussion about storytelling, place, memory and the craft of fiction.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary literature in conversation with one of Donegal’s best-loved poets. Early booking is strongly advised.
