The Allingham Arts Festival is delighted to announce Ár Seisiún Mór, a concert of traditional music dedicated to ‘the Donegal sound’ – the distinctive, driving fiddle-led style that has defined this county’s music for generations. The concert takes place at the Abbey Arts Centre on Friday 6 November at 8:30pm.

This unique session has been curated by Bianca Rohleder, who has brought together a stellar line-up lineup, and will include a special contribution by Bianca.

Bianca will premiere a new piece written in tribute to Margaret McGinley, a local teacher whose work did so much to shape Ballyshannon’s cultural life. It’s a fitting way to mark the evening: a night celebrating a living tradition, dedicated to someone who spent her life helping to pass it on.

Taking to the stage will be:

  • Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh
  • Seamie O’Dowd
  • Martin McGinley
  • Seanan Brennan
